Ukraine is a country in Eastern Europe with Moldova to the west and the Black Sea to the south. Ukraine is also home to more than 800 universities and has a diverse economy, mainly concentrated in and around large cities such as Kiev, Zaporizhia, Dnipro, Lviv, and Odessa. As of the start of 2019, 75,606 international students from 154 countries are studying at 443 Ukrainian universities. It should be noted that Ukraine has significantly lower tuition fees than many other countries, both in Europe and in the world.
There are six types of higher education institutions in Ukraine, each with a specific accreditation. Bachelor and higher level programs are offered by institutions with the highest level of accreditation called universities, academies and conservatories. The languages used for teaching are Russian, Ukrainian, English and French (only for medical programs).
